This keto-friendly Instant Pulled Pork in the Instant Pot recipe is deliciously easy! Sautéing the cubed pork in the Instant Pot prior to pressure cooking adds another level of deep flavor. No Instant Pot? No problem! I also give you step by step instructions for slow-cooking this Pulled Pork Recipe in a crock pot.

My family goes wild for this flavorful pulled pork. My favorite part is that the taste and texture seem like it slow-roasted all day long.

3 plates of Pulled pork and garlic mashed potatoes served with barbecue sauce.

Ingredients for Pulled Pork Instant Pot Recipe

  • 3-5 pound pork loin
  • 1-2 tablespoons seasonings
  • 2 tablespoons Bacon grease
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 cup water

How to Make Pulled Pork Instant Pot Recipe

  1. Cut the pork loin into large pieces, roughly 3 inches by 3 inches.
  2. Season the meat with 1-2 tablespoons of spices and salt and pepper to taste.
  3. My Instant Pot insert can be used to sauté. If yours has this feature, I recommend heating the bacon grease and sautéing the seasoned pork cubes for about 3-4 minutes per side. Cooking the pork loin in smaller pieces and browning the edges allows the meat to cook faster for a fork tender pulled pork.
  4. Add one cup of water to the pork cubes and fasten the Instant Pot lid. Select the meat setting and adjust the timer to 35 minutes.
  5. Allow the Instant Pot to release pressure naturally or use the quick release method. This will take several minutes. When it is ready, remove the lid and take the pork out and set it on a cutting board. Let it cool slightly, then use forks to shred the pieces. Place the shredded meat back into the juices in the Instant Pot. Serve and enjoy!

How Many Minutes Per Pound Do You Cook Pork in the Instant Pot?

It is recommended that you cook a boneless pork roast for 15 minutes per pound in the Instant Pot. For a 3 lb roast, that would be 45 minutes.  Pork that is cut into 3 inch pieces will cook much faster, which is why this recipe can be made in 35 minutes in an Instant Pot.

How Long Do You Cook Pork in the Instant Pot?

A pork loin that is cut into large pieces, roughly 3 inches by 3 inches, seal, will cook on HIGH (manual) pressure for forty minutes. Once the pressure has built and the cook time has finished, allow the pressure to release naturally for 15 minutes. Wait to open the door until all pressure is released. Pulled pork in the Instant Pot takes about 45 minutes from start to finish, depending on size.

How Long Does it Take to Cook a 5 Pound Pork Loin in an Instant Pot?
