Preserving Food
Preserving food is one of the most important parts of having a garden or homesteading. There are seasons when the chickens are laying more eggs than you could possibly need, and then they stop during the winter months and you're back to buying eggs at the store if you haven't Waterglassed Eggs to save through the colder months.
Same goes for harvesting Garlic Scapes 1 day out of the year! If they aren't preserved, there's no way to use them all before they spoil.
Preserving food can look very different depending on your needs and desires. My favorite methods are canning, dehydrating, freeze drying and freezing.
