It's a simple, from-scratch pantry mix that comes together in minutes and keeps breakfast easy without relying on store-bought mixes full of fillers and mystery ingredients. Keep it on hand and pancakes become a "why not?" meal instead of a whole production.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I freeze homemade pancake mix?

Yes. Store it in an airtight container and freeze for up to 6 months.

Why does batter get thicker while resting?

Flour continues absorbing liquid as it sits. This is normal, especially with homemade mixes. Just stir in more milk if needed, one tablespoon at a time.

Can I use this mix for both pancakes and waffles?

Absolutely. It's designed to work for both with small liquid adjustments.

I love how easy you made it to make homemade pancakes and waffles! We incorporated frozen blueberries for the best pancakes. Homemade is made with lots of love. Absolutely love your recipes for their simplicity and everyday ingredients.

    1. Hi Sherri, I'm a big fan of fresh milled flour, and this recipe will work wonderfully with it. I also have several whole wheat fresh milled recipes here on the site! I bet you'd like my whole wheat sandwich bread. Happy baking!
