Equipment

  • stand mixer
  • baking pan see note below for size options
  • measuring cups & spoons

Ingredients

  • cups All-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • teaspoons Baking powder
  • ¾ cup butter
  • cup dark brown sugar
  • ½ cup sourdough starter discard or active starter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 bag semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Prepare a 9x13 baking dish (see other pan sizes & baking times below) by spraying it with cooking spray or lining with parchment paper. Gather ingredients.
  2.  In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the room temperature butter and brown sugar. Beat on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  3.  Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then add the vanilla extract and sourdough starter discard, stirring until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the salt, baking powder, and flour. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, about ½ cup at a time, stirring until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed.
  6. Spread the sourdough blondie batter evenly in the prepared pan. Bake for 24-26 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the edges start to over-brown, cover with foil or move to a lower oven rack.
