Seasoning a pork loin with 2 tablespoons of spices prior to cooking in the Instant pot
  • My Instant Pot insert can be used to sauté. If yours has this feature, I recommend heating the bacon grease and sautéing the seasoned pork cubes for about 3-4 minutes per side.
Browning the edges of a pork loin in an instant pot on the sauté setting.
  • Add one cup of water to the pork cubes and fasten the Instant Pot lid. Select the meat setting and adjust the timer to 35 minutes.
  • Allow the Instant Pot to release pressure naturally or use the quick release method. This will take several minutes. When it is ready, remove the lid and take the pork out and set it on a cutting board. Let it cool slightly, then use forks to shred the pieces. Place the shredded meat back into the juices in the Instant Pot. Serve and enjoy!

Alternative Ways to Make This Recipe

If you don't have an Instant Pot, no worries! To make pulled pork in a crock pot, follow the instructions above and cook on high for four hours. The browning/sautéing step is optional for this alternative cooking method.

How Many Minutes Per Pound Do You Cook Pork in the Instant Pot?

It is recommended that you cook a boneless pork roast for 15 minutes per pound in the Instant Pot. For a 3 lb roast, that would be 45 minutes.  Pork that is cut into 3 inch pieces will cook much faster, which is why this recipe can be made in 35 minutes in an Instant Pot.
