Hello, sweet friends!
A few days ago, I saw a sweatshirt that said, "Rejoice Always."
These words have been stuck in my head ever since.
give thanks in all circumstances,
for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18.
It's beautiful, really. Sometimes the bible feels confusing and beyond my comprehension. Luckily, sometimes it feels as though it was written specifically for me. Do you ever put your name in the passage and read it as a prayer? For example, if I were to do that now it would read:
Megan, Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you.
These can be tough words to swallow, believe me I know. We all have seasons of our lives when it is so much easier to focus on the difficulties staring back at us instead of the hope that we are given through Jesus.
So many times I forget that I don't have to work through everything myself. God has it covered. Rejoice always.
When things feel too big or too overwhelming, Give thanks in all circumstances. Solving all of the problems and having all of the answers isn't meant for me. I just have to pray continuously and give thanks.
In all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
I pray that instead of resisting God's plans for me, that I remember to allow myself to be molded and grow in his love. Embracing the secure as well as the unknown, and the mundane as well as the extraordinary.
Romans 8 reminds us that nothing can separate us from God's love, that his work is at the center of our circumstances. All we have to do is trust in Him. What a beautiful gift!
Now I'm going to go pray this about 500 times (kidding... maybe?)
You can find the sweatshirt here. They will go on sale at 8:00pm CST today (12/1) and are expected to sell out, FYI.
